SUMMER ROWING PROGRAM      SUMMER RACING PROGRAM

SUMMER RACING PROGRAM

The Resilient Rowing Summer Racing Program will be comprised of U17 and U19 rowers and coxswains who are ready to take their rowing to the next level. Athletes at this level should be looking to not only improve their fundamental rowing skills but also looking to represent the Occoquan at the local, National, and International level. Members of this Group will train in both sweep and sculling boats with the goal of racing in multiple boat classes at each sprint regatta attended.

Registration for the Summer Racing Program will be open for all athletes interested in racing this summer. All athletes will be evaluated by at least two coaches based on a variety of factors including: 2K score, power to weight ratio, 10 stroke & 1 minute watt tests, overall fitness, technical aptitude, and boat moving ability during the Program Placement Period. Following the Program Placement Period athletes will be notified which program and regattas they'll be attending.

Summer Racing regattas will be available to a maximum of 24 rowers (12 boys & 12 girls) and up to 4 coxswains.  The regattas are the USRowing National Championships, Independence Day and Philadelphia Youth .
